10.00am - 1.00pm
The Old City Hall, Glasgow
Half day workshop on the guitar technique of Bert Jansch
Mike Walker and Thomas Fairhurst, both members of the Bert Jansch Foundation Transcription Group and highly experienced players of the Jansch/Renbourn/Graham Folk Baroque genre, will present an introduction to and insights into some of the techniques which made Bert Jansch's style unique and methods for the guitarist to acquire them.
Suitable for fingerstyle guitarists of all abilities but any player with an interest in Bert Jansch’s music who can fingerpick and read tab notation should get a lot from the session.
Players will need to bring their own guitar, capo, spare strings, tuner etc. and, if possible, a music stand (this will make your life easier if you can do so).
