Spring/Summer 2023
With MIKE WALKER and DARIUSH KANANI
Q. Will there be specific pieces I have to learn?
A. TAB will be circulated well in advance of the workshop for the study pieces. Students are not expected to learn these to performance standard in advance - they are more to be used for studying different aspects of John's playing and are not a test.
Q. Will I have any free time during the workshop?
A. The afternoon sessions are optional and offer opportunities for the student to relax, play, make trips etc. There is nothing to prevent students from taking time off from the main sessions too (it doesn't happen often though - people generally don't want to miss out on anything). There is usually a free afternoon mid-week.
Q. Do I have to pay as soon as I book?
A. No, we try to be as flexible as possible. Once you have requested a place we will ask for a non-returnable deposit to be paid by way of confirmation. Payment in full will be required before the workshop and will be notified well in advance.
Q. I'm stuck in a rut with my playing - would a workshop help with that.
A. Almost certainly. Students tend to leave the Renbourn workshops inspired and with many new musical directions to explore.
